Indfrag Limited is a leading manufacturer, exporter and importer of natural extracts for the Dietary Supplement, Sport Nutrition, Pharmaceutical, Food and Cosmetic Industries in the American, European and Asian regions.
The Beginning
In 1989, Philip Samuel founded Indfrag with the technical collaboration of a French subsidiary of Unilever. The goal was to manufacture high quality fresh flower extracts in India, where the raw materials were readily available. The extracts were then supplied to fragrance houses in Europe. In natural product processing, floral extraction is known to be the most delicate. Highly sensitive techniques are required to preserve the subtle fragrance of flowers. Indfrag developed these techniques into fine art. Applying this expertise to botanicals is what gives us a technological edge today.
Botanical Extracts for Healthcare
In
the 1990s, more and more people turned to nature for healthcare. Since we
already had the knowhow to produce fine natural extracts at Indfrag, we
diversified into the manufacture of botanical extracts for health foods
and dietary supplements. Today, our main focus is on selected products
that originates from traditional Indian texts, and a few others of
international renown.
The Vision
Philip
Samuel is an engineer with a passion for quality. He has built finely
designed facilities using the best equipments available. He believes
that it is essential to keep on upgrading resources to stay
ahead. His goal is to achieve consistently high quality with every
single Indfrag product. And to do so with a genuine concern for the
environment and for people-not just people at Indfrag but the community
at large, the customer and the end-consumer. This is why Philip Samuel believes high technology per se is not enough. and that one needs to apply
science with a conscience.
The Quality Chain
We maintain very stringent quality control at every stage of operation.
Sourcing
Our
raw material come directly from the source. We have developed personal
relationships with wild-crafters and cultivators from the unspoilt
regions of the earth. For instance, apart from the far reaches of
India, we source out St. John's
Wort from Chile, Valerian Root from Poland, Gingko from China, etc.. We
regard our suppliers as partners. This personal equation makes the
crucial difference. We get the best quality at a reasonable prices.
Storage
Fresh
raw materials are stored on site in large, well-maintained storage
warehouses. This environment is kept scrupulously clean without the use of
pesticides.
Production
Our
production facilities are Food Grade and meet GMP standards. Three
independent production lines allow us to extract three different
products simultaneously. We have designed the facility with maximum
flexibility, allowing the production of large bulk orders or small
batches at short notice. Currently, the capacity of the plant is
approximately 4,000 tonnes of raw material per year.
The ISO 9001 Quality System
Indfrag
has been awarded the ISO 9001 certificate for quality by RW TUV of
Germany. What this means is that we have established and applied a
quality system in our factory to design, develop, manufacture and
supply Natural Extracts conforming to ISO 9001 standards.
